Audacity is a digital audio editor and recording application. Audacity is cross-platform and is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and BSD.
it also means invulnerable to fear or intimidation, fearless and daring.

WAV = An industry standard file used to store a piece of audio. This standard is playable on any Windows based computer and is the recognized standard. It is not a compressed format though and the file size is quite large. WAV files can easily be converted into other compressed file types.

AIFF = A standard format for uncompressed PCM audio. AIFF is typically used on the Macintosh

MP3 = is typically a file format associated with music

Ogg Vorbis = A non-proprietary, patent free open source audio compression format that is similar to MP3

A podcast is a small series of videos or audio hosted by a website.
